I really feel for those kids, and all Jon wants to do is party like a college kid, when he is a father of “8″…that’s right “8″ kids. Kate is off promoting her career some more. So where does it leave the kids. I hope with some time apart, with all the money they have, they can try to save this family and this marriage with some counselling. They owe the kids that much don’t they?
Yes I agree,they could have at least worked it out with some counseling.
If it were me, I would have gotten out of the contract for the show (with the help of an attorney, obvs) and done everything in my power to save the marriage, including counseling, before throwing in the towel.
But since they are NOT me, I really could care less. The only marriage that truly matters to me is my own…and that is how it should be for all of us.

They definitely need some kind of counseling. They can’t split up with all their kids. Think about how their lives are going to be like. I feel so bad for them already.

dude, they are done. the show isnt on hiatus, they are getting a divorce and the show is continueing on with kate having them some days and jon having them some days.

It seems like they didn’t even attempt to get counseling. They kept saying on last nights show that they do everything for “the kids” But apparently they fail to realize that putting effort into their marriage is not only for them, but for “the kids” as well.
No, Jon said he was finally standing up for himself. Which could mean that Kate emotionally abused him for years.

I wish they could. However, in order for them to go to counseling, they both have to want to go. John is done. He said he’s 32, young, and excited for the next chapter of his life. He acts like he’s worried about his family, but if you can make a comment like that… then you don’t want help-you want out. It’s so sad. I hope somehow or someday he’ll realize what an idiot he was. The only reason he has what he has is from the show and his kids. I also think Kate would have done counseling. I think in one of the episodes she mentioned it, but knew he wouldn’t do it. I’m not really sure though, I can’t even watch the new episodes, they’re too upsetting.
