Biblical Marriage –
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Genesis 2:24
Men do not need to be married to beat a woman or children. Marriage is therefore not to blame for that. It is never the fault of the marriage because there are marriages in which that sort of abuse never happens. Marriage is not the precurser nor the common denominator for abuse.
I’m having a hard time figuring out what your definition of a biblical marriage is. Does it just mean that a Christian man and a Christian woman met, fell in love, had a Christian wedding, and then consummated their marriage? Is an abusive marriage a biblical one if all the above procedures were followed? If it’s not, disregard my comment. If it is, can a marriage where a husband beats his wife or children daily really be considered “perfect”?
but that is a bit of a slippery slope if you think about it someone could go out with a gun on a blind rampage and then say ‘well im sorry officer i dident know what i was doing god just took control’ with the same logic you have apply’d then putting that man in jail is like putting god in jail im sorry m8 but i just dont see how you could rationalize that
Marriage is a covenant instituted by God Himself. Blaming the marriage for selfish behavior by the participants is equal to blaming God.
Man/woman relationships happen all the time without the covenant of marriage.
I’m sorry about the noise. I am going to take that location off the list. It used to be quieter.
Hey I’m really glad that you’re allowing comments on this video. I’m having a hard time hearing you with all the ambient noise.
I’m not sure that blaming the marriage is blaming God. That seems patently absurd. A marriage is a relationship, not a god. Therefore blaming a marriage for anything would necessarily be blaming a relationship and not God.
I am well.
All of my atheist content has moved to educatingtheatheists. I haven’t made too much lately because I am a very busy person. I have some great content coming so stay tuned.
