Telling a modern, independent woman to submit to her husband is like telling a tree to be a blade of grass. “How can a woman submit to a man who isn’t leading?” she wants to know. “Tell him to be a godly husband; then we’ll talk about submission!” Over the past fifty years, we’ve rightfully abandoned ungodly submission of the past, but we’ve failed to replace it with a godly understanding of what biblical understanding looks like. The God Empowered Wife: How Strong Women Can Help Their Husbands Become Godly Leaders

How would you describe yourself? Independent? Strong? Decisive? Spunky? Confident? Hard working? Responsible? Natural Leader?
If you would apply any one, or combination, of those words to yourself then this book is what you need to read. NOW! K.B. Haught uses her tragic testimony to encourage others to understand and grasp God’s plan for us strong women. God made no mistake in how He made us, we just need to understand how He wants to use us.
I have read many solid Christian books about being the wife that God wants me to be, but this one touched my heart on several points that I have never before been able to fully understand. If you want to be a wife that brings glory to God then this book is a must read for you

I have read & re-read this book. It stays on my nighttand for when I need reminders of how I can enjoy the best that God has for me and my marriage by acting with a pure heart which is aimed at pleasing Him!! I encourage each & every one of you to take the time – read the book – apply the lessons – you will NOT be disappointed. I even had the awesome opportunity to enjoy meeting with Karen over a period of weeks for a small group study of her book and that added even more insight into the things that I have done (and am still doing – this is not an instant cure!!) which have undermined my heart’s desire to have a Godly marriage. Read the book!! (Then watch for her next one about the idols of our heart!!)

I am a licensed clinical social worker and am pursuing training in biblical counseling as well. We are in the process of establishing a counseling ministry at my church and I was on Amazon searching for a book for wives who are discouraged, defeated. I ordered this book after reading previous reviews about it. It arrived and I opened it around 5pm, and I finished it the same night. I was very pleased with the extensive use of scripture throughout the book. I read it quickly (this time) as I wanted to pass it along to other women. Almost every frustration they share with me was addressed in this book. It is so easy to see only a husband’s sin and abdication, not our own sin and responsibility. This book will be transforming for women who long to follow God’s lead but do not know how to see beyond their struggles right now. We can argue all day long about feelings, who’s right, responsibility, etc. But scripture cuts through our arguments and gets to the truth of our sin. This book points wives to God as the healer of relationships and provides hope for those who earnestly seek to glorify God in their marriages.

I just read Karen’s book after the NANC conference in Lafayette, IN. I wish I had read it 30 years ago! Where was this teaching 30 years ago? lol I gave the book to my daughter who’s been married five years. She read it in just a couple of days and is now going through it and using the prayers and action points. It is so awesome to have this book to help mentor younger women and encourage them in their walks with their husbands. I also just bought two more copies to give to my other daughter and my daughter-in-law to be. I believe I will also be using it in our Women’s Ministry group called the “Button Club.” Don’t miss out on this awesome resource!!

I’m so thankful for this book! I’m grateful that God gave Mrs. Haught these insights regarding a wife’s submission and how she can encourage godly leadership from her husband. I am immediately beginning to implement these ideas in my own marriage. I am excited to finally have a book to recommend to women that offers very practical, yet very scriptural steps for women to learn what submission looks like and how they can help their husbands step up to the plate.
